Theological Libraries eBooks Lending Project – Be in control of your content!
A collaborative group of libraries partnered with ODILO to develop a unique solution for licensing and distributing eBooks to their students, faculty, and staff. The Theological Libraries eBooks Lending Project (ELP) was created due to several academic libraries (all members of American Theological Library Association) successfully working together. The ELP group purchases (rather than licenses) eBooks, which are made available to any ELP group library, and ODILO provides the platform to easily manage and distribute the content. Each college has a different integrated library system, but with ODILO they can use all of their existing ILS authentication systems to access the resources on their ODILO platform. The ELP group has a designated ‘publisher liaison’ who works directly with publishers in order to bring desirable content into the platform. Some of the publishers they have been working with include Ashgate, Banner of Truth, Crossway, De Gruyter, Eerdmans, Eisenbrauns, EP Books, InterVarsity Press, Proquest Dissertation Express, Smyth & Helwys, and Wiley-Blackwell.
